Overview

The Blockstream Jade Plus is the premium version of Blockstream's popular open-source wallet, upgrading the original with an aluminium body, a bigger and clearer screen, camera-based QR air-gap, and microSD support — while keeping the low-ish price and open-source firmware that made the original a value champion. It's aimed at buyers who want a nicer, more capable air-gapped device without paying flagship money.

Like the original, it supports Bitcoin and the Liquid Network and pairs with wallets such as Blockstream Green, Sparrow, and Specter. It keeps Jade's flexible security options: the encrypted 'blind oracle' backup where Blockstream's server never sees your keys, plus a fully offline stateless mode. Camera QR plus microSD give you multiple air-gapped ways to move transactions, and USB-C is there when you want convenience.

The same honest caveat applies as with the standard Jade: it does not use a dedicated hardware secure element, instead relying on its software architecture and the blind-oracle or stateless approach. That's a deliberate design choice, not a bug, but if hardware secure-element resistance is a hard requirement, a Trezor Safe 5, Coldcard, or Foundation Passport fits better.
