Ledger Flex

Overview

The Ledger Flex is Ledger's mid-tier touchscreen wallet, sitting between the button-driven Nano line and the premium Stax. It brings the Stax's biggest usability upgrade — a black-and-white E-Ink touchscreen — to a flatter, more affordable device. The larger screen makes verifying addresses and amounts genuinely easier than squinting at a Nano, and the E-Ink 'secure display' can show wallet info even when the device is off.

Security-wise the Flex is a Ledger through and through: keys live in a certified secure element, transactions are signed on-device, and you confirm details on the touchscreen. It adds NFC alongside USB-C and Bluetooth. Coin support is the usual broad Ledger catalogue through Ledger Live.

Be clear-eyed about what you're paying for. The Flex is more expensive than a Nano S Plus but is not fundamentally more secure — a Nano protects the same keys with the same class of secure element. You are paying for the touchscreen, the bigger display, and NFC convenience. And it carries the same honest caveats as every Ledger: closed-source firmware and the opt-in Ledger Recover service. If open-source is your priority, a Trezor Safe 5 offers a color touchscreen with auditable firmware.
